Knee High by the 4th of July

Jeremy in the corn field behind our house.
Here's how tall the corn has gotten. It definitely made "knee high by the 4th of July"....an old farmers saying in case you hadn't heard it before. Like my mom and dad used to say you can almost hear it growing on the hot summer days.

A farmer outstanding in his field! (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

Nice looking corn and a handsome young man. I have been amazed at how much my Dad's corn has grown in just a few days. I am praying for a bountiful crop for you farmers this year.

We have that saying here on the east coast too - and ours is much higher than our knees, too!

I love the picture!!

My mom always used to say that, too, when we were growing corn. Boy, there is nothing like fresh corn on the cob. I sure miss it!!

That is a great pic! I can't believe how high your corn is here. The fields around here are about only knee high! You have superior corn!

I also took a picture like this on the 4th and plan to post it next week. The corn looks great!

So glad your corn is doing well.

Growing up on a farm I've heard that
"Knee high by the 4th of July" saying many times.

That corn looks wonderful! You know, we are city folks and I think only my 9 year old has ever seen corn. It was while we were on summer vacation one year in Tennessee. The corn field was next to our friends home. I don't think my oldest son was with us that year, which makes me think he has never seen a corn stalk! I think that is very sad! I grew up in California, where my dad always had a garden. I do remember him being successful with his corn!
