more of vegas

We saw lots of things in Vegas......The Pirate Ship show at Treasure Island

The Volcano at the Mirage

The Water Show at the Billagio from on top of the Eiffel Tower.
We also went to The Beatles Love Cirque Du Soleil (which was phenomenal, I would highly recommend this show), Mac King Comedy Show (good for kids and adults), Comedy Show at Harrahs (pretty good), Defending the Caveman (funny) and Mesmerized (it's a hypnotist/comedy and it is HILARIOUS).

Vegas

We had a great trip to Vegas! It was lots of fun and we had very little sleep.

We stayed at the Monte Carlo.....here we are in back of the hotel waiting for a cab to take us to Freemont Street.

Our good friends, Wayne and Laurie went along with us again this year. They are lots of fun so they made the trip really fun and memorable for us.

We did some of this....

gambling....

but I didn't have as much luck as Laurie did.

And we did LOTS of this......

Drinking!

I had sooooooo many good daiquiris! This is just one of the small ones at one of the shows. (This was the day before we left....can you tell how tired I am)

Chad didn't allow very many pictures of him so I had to sneak a picture of him...

in front of the machines that he did NOT play very much.

Not near as much as Laurie and me!

And Wayne did a lot of this.....

talking on his cell phone.....

darn business!

I have lots more pictures....will share them with you throughout the week.

It's fun to go on vacation but it's GREAT to be back home again!

Vacation.....

We are heading to Vegas....be back next Friday!
I am so ready for a vacation I can't wait to leave. We have had so much to do to get ready but it will all be worth it when we set foot in Vegas on Monday. We are going with the same friends as we did last year so I am sure we will have a great time! I will try to take lots of pictures.
"See ya" next week my friends.........

Elections

Does this look like vice-president material??!!
Elections were held in school last week and Courtney's group won....She will be next year's Student Body Vice-President. Here she is with the new Student Body Secretary, Larae.

Spring?

Is it possible....could we be experiencing an early spring....or is this just a taste of what is to come?

It has been so nice here, almost like spring but I am not getting my hopes up just yet. I just love the smell of spring...even here on the farm. I love opening the windows in the house and just taking in all the fresh air (along with some not so fresh odors some days). I am really looking forward to the signs of spring....things staring to get green, leaves starting to appear, baby calves running around, the birds singing away etc.

What is your favorite part of spring?

Friends

Me, Michelle and Jodi

This weekend I got together with 2 of my best friends from high school and we had a blast!

We met at Jodi's house in Brookings on Friday and had a great supper that Michelle made and brought. We just hung out at Jodi's house that evening and had many drinks and many good laughs. Jodi's daughter stopped by so we got to see her again and meet Jodi's grandson Tanner. Saturday we enjoyed scones that Michelle had brought and visited some more and then Jodi took us out for lunch. After lunch, we got the privilege of helping Jodi put out inventory for her new store Vamp that will be opening in a few weeks. She also owns Funbags so we went there to check it out and Jodi had Michelle and I each pick out a purse....

so I got this awesome purse....thanks Jodi!

I had so much fun! We are hoping to get together more often and I can't wait for the next get-together!

If you are ever in Brookings, stop by and check out Jodi's stores.....Funbags and Vamp.....they are awesome! She also has a Funbags in Watertown, so if you are in the Watertown mall...check that one out.

Rah Rah!

Cheerleading tryouts were held yesterday and Courtney is a football cheerleader again next year for football! She really enjoys cheering and has such a fun time with the girls (and cheer advisors). They will be picking competition cheerleaders soon and she is hoping to make it on that squad too.

Basketball

Got to see some more basketball action today (I LOVE basketball). We went to the women's SDSU vs IUPUI Summit league game today in SF. The SDSU women came out on top....YIPPEE! They play for the championship tomorrow afternoon.

Getting some freezing rain here today and they are saying up to 6 or 7 inches of snow possible by tomorrow evening. I am soooooooooo tired of snow! I am sooooooo ready for spring! The good thing is we don't have any calves-yet! We aren't supposed to start until April 1st but we just bought 13 more head and some of them are supposed to start on March 24. I still have a few weeks (hopefully) to prepare for the calving season.

Chad

Chad finally started in with some really tough physical therapy this last week! He has been doing some for the last 7 weeks but just little things to keep his shoulder from freezing up. He has moved on to some tougher things (they don't look tough to the "normal" person but he is really struggling with some of the exercises). Please keep him in your prayers as he moves on to some really difficult days ahead of him.

Update on Play Practice

Courtney went on a trip yesterday with the cast for this years play to one of the colleges and decided that being in the play is really not her thing. She talked to the director yesterday about it and has decided not to keep her speaking part. She only had a few lines and they have not practiced her scene yet so it will not be difficult to find a replacement. I was a little bummed but she has so much going on right now that it was probably a wise decision.

Play Practice

Courtney has a small part in this years High School Play. She has done hair and make-up in the past and had a non-speaking roll but this year she actually gets to speak on stage! They started practices a few weeks ago but have really stepped up the practices...practicing every day after school and on Saturdays too.
