We got hit by another blizzard last week!
School was let out early on Wednesday and called off Thursday and Friday. Part of the reasoning behind school getting called off was the bitter cold temperatures and the wind.
We "got" to send our remaining hogs (1600) to market on Friday....one of the coldest days (if not the coldest) of the season so far. One good thing was that since school was called off, we had some help. Courtney was just thrilled that she didn't have school but got to load hogs..lol! She called two of her friends, Tayler and Hannah, and they came out and helped us. Thank God for her friends!
It was one LONG day, we started loading about noon (well the kids did, I had to waitress until 1:00) and got done about 11:00 Friday evening.

The drift beside one of the hog barns.

I was the lucky one that got to go to the barns early that morning to shovel out the load out areas! Here is what I looked like after I got done shoveling.

I can't believe I still had a smile on my face after shoveling!
Notice the frost on my hair!

I am so thankful for my kids and their friends for their help....I don't think I tell my kids often enough how much I appreciate them and the hard work that they do for us!
