Bring on the Bling

Courtney got her ears pierced yesterday----FINALLY! At age 15, she decided that she was brave enough (it helped that she took 2 friends with her that were not going to let her back out--thanks Tasha and Hannah). She has wanted them pierced for so long but has trouble with anxiety sometimes. We took her in when she was about 6 to have them pierced and she was doing pretty good until the put the mark on her ear with the marker...she darted out of the chair and refused to go through with it. Yesterday she finally found the courage to do it so.........BRING ON THE BLING!

Fun! Fun! She will have fun wearing earrings now. I like to wear earrings too.

Good for you Courtney! Brylie got her's pierced when she was 3, but I think if we would have waited even another year she would have been too scared and probably would have waited until she was 15! She still says, "I'm so glad my ears are pierced forever!" It really isn't a fun experience, but so worth it to have the bling!

That is too funny! Shayla decided that she wanted her ears done one day. So we took her in to have them done, she saw the gun...and she decided that she would wait until she was 13!

Chris, you should be happy that she waited till she was 15. Now YOU don't have to be the one that cleans them for her three times a day. Nikia just got hers pierced 2 weeks ago and that's the worst part - cleaning them.

That is funny! Way to go Courtney!!

Marissa wants her ears pierced but she works herself up so much that she will freak out. I told her when she is ready she can do it.

I make my girls wait til they are old enough to take care of the ears themselves. My oldest was about 15 or so, because she was always involved in a sport that required no earrings, and she couldn't tape her earrings during the first while when they should be left in.
I love the picture of Courtney you posted on Friday! What a pretty girl.

I just bought myself some "bling" after many months of buying nothing but household cleaners. I never realized how much I missed those sparklies. :-D

Oh, good for her! Now comes the fun part of picking out all the pretties:) I have two holes in each ear and one in the cartiledge of my left ear. It seems I can never leave the mall without new earrings!

Yay!! One of my daughters waited till she was a little older, and we still had to bring her friend with us so she wouldn't back out. My youngest was begging for them from the start, and finally did it last year when she turned 6. She was tougher than my older daughter. But she LOVES her bling like I do!! I got my first holes at 10. My mom wouldn't let me get double pierced so I did it myself in my room one night at age 12. Then I did a 3rd on the left side, also by myself. I knew I'd get in trouble but I thought it was worth it at the time!!

YAY - I never enjoyed that time either (I have mine done twice) but always glad when it was over. :)

I think I was 19 when I finally got my ears pierced. So glad to hear I wasn't the only *chicken*. And I mean that in a kind way!

She will have so much fun shopping for the right ear rings!

Congrats to her on the courage! I can relate to the ear piercing anxiety. I took my daughter in when she was 8 years old. There was anxiety, crying, panic-- it was not a fun experience. Then, after all that, she decided it was too much of a bother and took them out! aaaahhh kids. I told her we are NOT doing that again until she is at least 16!

Well, sounds like you also got an ear pierced son shortly after, into the bargain...
