Signs of Spring

You know it is spring when you have to mow your lawn for the first time. I just hate having to clean up the yard in the spring. Branches and sticks all over from the hard winter, junk that has blown in the yard from all the wind and rocks from where Chad pushed the snow in piles. I am lucky, Courtney is our "official mower". She took the job over from Jeremy several years ago. It takes her about 3 hours here at the farm and another 2-3 at the hog site. She doesn't usually complain too much about the job, anything to be out in the sun, soaking up the rays for a nice tan!

Wow. Three hours to mow with a riding lawn mower. We have a push mower. How long would it take to mow your farm that way? Yikes!

Not that I wouldn't mow, but my husband takes care of that and that is just fine with me.

By the way...your daughter is VERY pretty!!

Isn't it nice to have kids to do those time consuming jobs for you? Although I actually do like to mow, I always think about all the other things I have to do. It will be nice when our daughter is home from college in a week and can take over the mowing. We live in town, but between our extra lots and our shop, it takes 3-4 hours to mow, too.

Spring clean-up...ugh...Hate it! Honestly, I think that the leaves in our landscaping multiply daily. I pick them all up...then there are more. It's so annoying.

I enlarged Courtney's picture. She is totally gorgeous!!! And willing to mow, too. What a combo.

I agree, she is a lovely girl!! :-)

My sons would be so envious of her getting to drive that lawn mower!! The closest they've come is sitting on the ones at Home Depot and playing with their little toy ones.

That is one way I'd be willing to do yard work, though. It looks like fun!! :-)

I'm like your daughter - I love to mow because it gets me out in the sun. It takes about 2 hours at our house. I'll be sad when I have to turn the job over to my children. Fortunately, that is a ways off!

Do you loan her out?? :) Actually Robb does all of the mowing here. He has gotten it down to an art so it only takes him 45 minutes to do the whole lawn. I agree that the cleaning up from the winter is the worst. In the fall we have the whole yard raked and looking great before the first snow and then somehow when the snow melts in the spring and the yard is full of crap! Ugh!

I like to get out and mow too(or garden or play with the kids or swim).
I like to be outdoors as much as I can during the spring and summer. I like to tan my winter white skin too.
I agree with the others your daughter is very pretty.

Hi! I think this is the first time I have visited your blog. I've enjoyed scrolling through, looking at photos, etc. What a fine looking couple of kids!

Here in Florida, our worst clean up time is DURING summer and early fall. All those summer storms and HURRICANE season until Nov.!!
