In May, one of the many HUGE wind storms we had blew the tin roof off the south side of the barn and almost got the North side...you can see the tires that we put on top to keep the roof on. The wind took many of the old wood shingles underneath the tin and scattered them about the yard and pasture. After picking them all up, we noticed that the roof was not in very good shape on the south part (and the walls are not the best either) so we decided to replace the whole south side. We have spent the last few days gutting the inside of it out and pushed in in today.
Back view before destruction....the right hand side is the "bad" side.
There she goes.........

Swing that hammer and pound those nails! Hope it goes well and quickly. Did you get the rain? We got an inch here in a downpour.
that looks like so much FUN... that barn looks like something out of a movie... told you I'm a city girl... can't wait to see the progress. ~ kim
I think the blow by blow is cool!
Looks like a BIG project. Good luck with all that. Cleaning up is always the worst part of any project if you ask me :)!
Sorry to hear you didn't get any rain. I'll keep praying that you guys get the rain you need soon. I'll even do a little dance to hopefully help the rain come..he he!
Have a great day!

Okay, next time you want to demo something, call me.....I have always wanted to operate one of those bad boys....
You're gonna have your hands full but I can't wait to see the new pics.
That looks like a lot of fun to have to clean up. I bet it will look great when all finished!!
Ahhhh, your farm looks beautiful, even in times of extra work load! Good luck on the repairs!

You have quite a job going on there. It will be interesting to follow the progress. Take lots of pictures!
Great pictures! You will have some super 'after' ones for us too! There is always something that needs fixing isn't there? I wish I could have a full time carpenter, boy would I keep him busy fixing things! Be careful, don't step on any nails! Been there, done that! :0(
Now that's a project. Best wishes on getting 'er done soon.
Found you from Momma Roar's site. Like your site - love that you really enjoy your farm life!
The barn looks like a huge project! I'll have to come back and see how it turned out. :)
