The kids have survived the first 3 days of practice and are at day 4 practice right now.

Jeremy practices football from 8-noon every day and they have some pretty rigorous drills during practice. He is one of 3 returning offensive starters (he plays tackle but they might put him at guard) so they have a lot of offensive work to do (we play 11 man). Looks like he may get to play some defense this year too.

Courtney has practiced volleyball from 9-10:30 (conditioning stations) and then again from 2-4 (working on skills). She has a chance to play some varsity this year (she plays hitter/setter). Today she practices from 9-11 and they are having a potluck picnic and sand volleyball for all the families. That sounds like a lot of fun.

Courtney also has had cheerleading practice after volleyball practice (she is a football cheerleader). She has been getting home around 6:30.

They have both been kinda tired but not really sore...the basketball (and volleyball for Courtney) leagues they play in the summer keep them in shape and Jeremy took a 6 week athletic training program again this summer too. Between the leagues, programs, camps and the work they do on the farm, they stay pretty fit and in shape.

The first football game is a week from tomorrow. I am really looking forward to the upcoming seasons (but not the fact that this will be Jeremy's last year playing).

I pray that they have fun playing and that they have an injury free football and volleyball season!

That's a pretty heavy schedule to keep up, plus school work.

Susan....school doesn't start until next Wednesday.
What a fun and busy family..Oh the memories that are being made
They will really stay busy during school.
I hope that they can stay injury free and have a great time.
The busy-ness begins.
My husband coaches football. So he is doing two a day practices right now.
Derek has practice for 3-4 grade football a few nights a week.
Enjoy your football season.
Enjoy it all! High school years are so busy--and pass so quickly!
Cross Country is our fall sport.
I loved being a football cheerleader. Even when I had to cheer in the snow!
School next Wednesday? Ugh. We go back after Labor Day here.
Busy, Busy! I remember those schedules with sports. I also enjoyed being a football cheerleader!! Something about cheering for "the boys"
Boy just reading their schedules wore me out..ha ha :)! Sounds like that will keep them busy! Hard to believe it's that time of year already!
Have a great weekend!!

Wow, your kids are very busy. I hope the weather is not too hot in your part of the country. I feel sorry for the kids here who outside practicing for hours at a time in the 100+ degree heat.
Oh how I remember cheering on my son's football team for those 4 years of high school!!! Sometimes it would be VERY cold and we would all be wrapped up in blankets and have knit caps on. Can get cold here in Maine in October. Have fun watching your kids games and pray over them every time for safe keeping!
Oh man, football practice is going, that means school is not far behind. where did the summer go?
