State Fair

We went to the SD State Fair on Saturday. Jeremy went with some buddies of his but we took Courtney and a friend of hers and caught up with another friend of hers that we brought home with us too. The girls went to the 4-H dance in the evening and Chad and I attended a 40th birthday party for a very good friend of ours (Troy) that they had in the dairy barn. Ok, you really know what kind of hicks we are out here when we attend a birthday party in a dairy barn at the State Fair! Here is Troy with his "girls" (guernsey and jersey) that he brought to show in Open Class.
Here are my uncle's holsteins that they showed in Open Class.
Hannah, Tasha and Courtney right before we went home....they were acting a little silly by this point....see the fireworks in the background.
We had a great time at the State Fair!

Remember when we used to run around the State Fair? Do you think Courtney and her friends checked out the McCrossan's workers? Or farm boys from Salem?ROFL!

A birthday party in a dairy barn sounds like fun to me!

Sounds like fun to me!

I lived in a small town when I was in high school--I've been to a couple of parties in barns!

We were going to go to the Fair but opted to stay home and re-shingle the garage. I heard the girls had fun!! I bet the party was good too. We should have gone to the Fair and did the garage another weekend. BUMMER!!

I remember going to the state fair for 4H and checking out all the cute guys in the cow barn...we had horses, but there were not any cute guys in there. Also, running away from the FFA guys because they were dorky.

Sounds like a fun time, and glad you got to get out of your own pastures and visit with your friends!

Hey, sounds like fun to me!!!! I guess we are hicks as well! I am glad you all had fun, I love the fair. My daughter is wanting to go to ours when it starts. Of course my favorite part is the livestock! Anyway, love the pics!

I love the bottom of the girls - not to get mixed up with Troy's girls. :)

Great looking cows. Did he place with them? I love the state fair, at least the farm stuff not the rides. Oh the fried dough too, probably a hundred gazillion fat grams in it! The girls look like they are having a great time!
