"Black Friday"

Well.....the tradition of shopping on "Black Friday" with my sisters was once again a success.

We added a few new people on our "adventure" this year. My brother Eric and his girlfriend Dulcy were back visiting for Thanksgiving this year so they tagged along. I don't think they were impressed with the whole "adventure" as they ended up sitting in the vehicle for a lot of the morning (neither one of them are "morning people"). My good friend Laurie also went along and I think she really enjoyed the "adventure".

We shopped quite a bit (as much as you can do in our small shopping town)....laughed a lot....did a lot of "people watching" (some people can be VERY RUDE!)....and ended the "adventure" with an awesome breakfast at Perkins.

Sounda great! My dil. Holly, does the Black Friday shopping thing. She is a SHOPPER! I haven't heard the report yet, but I'm sure she had a great time.

I plan to do most of my shopping online--That's my kind of shopping!

Sounds like fun. I shopped one year on black friday(my MIL sent me out with a list) and I refuse to do it again. I was in line at Kohl's by 4:30 a.m and I was still at the very end of the HUGE parking lot. I did venture out later yesterday but it was still pretty crazy.

Oh, good for you!!!!

I've gone on Black Friday in the past, but not this year...was still recovering from having the meal at my house! I think this year might be a lot of shopping from my couch and laptop!! :)

Two years ago I watched a mob of people pushing and grabbing each other to get Game Boys at Target. When the successful ones walked away with their prizes...I saw a woman laying on the floor, right next to the case that held the Game Boys...the crowd had trampled over her, and no one bothered to help her up. I decided I would never again be a part of the early morning stand in line thing again...(But I am sure that doesn't happen in good ol' South Dakota!) Just to clarify...I do go out later in the morning (10:30), I just don't go when the mob masses are so cruel.

I'm beginning to think the day is called Black Friday because people's hearts become black as sin as they focus on getting their prizes.

Brave, that's all I have to say. We used to have Perkins here, they went out of business though...I miss them.

I do not shop on Black Friday. This year I had to go pick up my daughter's flute that was being repaired and happened to be ready Friday. So I thought while I was in SF I would venture over to Target. Ah, yes, that reminded me why I won't shop on Black Friday! Even at mid-afternoon the lines to checkout were halfway to the back of the store.

Oh dear, where is the turkey :)! I was expecting a big farm meal, which I guess, is in the freezer! Let us know how these oysters turn out :).

Good job! I only shopped online, I'm not quite brave enough to go out in the crowds (even in this small town!). I leave that to the in-laws, they go every year. Perkins sounds like a perfect way to end the morning! I miss that restaurant - we don't have one here.

I just LOVE Perkins, we don't have them down here in Okla/Tx area, but where I was raised in Ks they are everywhere. My favorite is the "Lots Ham and Cheese Omelet" w/ a mammoth blueberry muffin. My mouth is watering as I type.
I hope you got a lot of bargins while shopping.
