Wow, where do I begin??!! It was a long but fun weekend. We were in Pierre for the State Shooting Sports Match.
Getting to Pierre....it's normally about a 3 hour drive but took us about 4 hours to get there. I drove through some pretty nasty stuff. It was snowing so hard at times and the wind was blowing so we had poor visibility for the first hour and a half of our drive. We also had to keep stopping to clean off the windshield wipers...they kept accumulating ice and would not keep the windshield clear.
The kids shot pretty good....even above their average on their air pistols. Their .22 pistol shooting was not the greatest as they shot right after we got to Pierre and it was cold and the wind was blowing pretty bad. Oh well, that's the chance you take when you shoot outdoors. They both did pretty good on their archery shooting. Jeremy was pretty tired after his last archery as he shot 310 arrows over the weekend with his 8 archery events.
We finished the weekend by taking the kids out to a 3-D archery shoot. Neither my sister or I had ever watching a 3-D shoot.....we had a blast watching the kids! It amazed us how they could shoot the animal targets so well. They did soooo good and had a lot of fun! We a great weekend.

Glad you all had a safe trip! Good job kids! That is the one thing about shooting outdoors, is the elimates!
3-D shooting is awesome! When I lived in town there was a place to go to as well. It rocked! I still pull out my bow and practice. I really do love it, wish I had more time to do it.
They didn't postpone the event???!!!
great job!!!
310 arrows?? holy cats!!
glad you made it there safe!
I can't even believe you drove in that weather! I picked Hunter up from school that day and barely made it back home.
I'm sure it is hard to reschedule those kind of events.
I heard you were still having bad weather up there. So sorry.

Sounds like a good weekend. I swear the thought of driving in snow scares me!
You drove in that crazy weather? Glad you all made it safe!!
Congrats on the good job!!
Glad you made it there and back without incident. I hate driving in that kind of weather, very scarey. I've never seen 3-D shooting, must be fun. So good for the kids to learn how to do all of these things. Wish we had it around here.
WOW - I can't believe you drove through that! It was AWFUL. We missed the whole thing this year, but there is always next year I guess.
your family does fun things. I love your farm life.
Wow, what a weekend. Congratulations to your kids and their team mates for their work. Sounds like you had a very interesting weekend. I am glad you arrived safely and the drive home was better driving. Sounds like an interesting event to attend.
Love and Hugs,
Joyce
