Canning

I got more canning done yesterday....8 quarts and 4 pints of salsa, 5 quarts of spaghetti sauce and 5 pints and 12 jelly jars of plum jelly. I have more tomatoes just about ready to can and my sister has more plums. I think I will pass on the plums and my sister may take some tomatoes off my hands. With Courtney's volleyball and cheerleading schedule and the farm, I am having a hard time finding the time to get my canning done this year.

Kudo's to you for all the canning going on. I haven't done this in years, nor do I intend to. Lol.

The last time and I must say only time, we were given 90 tomato plants and planted all. Not expecting all to survive. However they did! I swore after that I would never can again. Ha.

Beautiful preserves! You will enjoy all of those goodies during the winter months. Yes, we are having frost now. When Labor Day is over someone turns the switch to COLD!

They look beautiful, and I LOVE homemad salsa, but, yes, canning is so time consuming.

That canning stash looks great!! You are inspiring me to try making salsa. It would be a new experience but I still have some jars left :)) I like to do it but it's really tricky between farming jobs, I know! But it will be delicious in the wintertime.

I don't know how you find the time. With your busy life you still make time to do canning. Salsa sounds really good right now. Are you coming to town at all? ;)

Wow!!! If I'd gotten all that done I'd think I was doing a good job of getting my canning done.

I know what you mean. trying to find the time to put up the fruits and vegatables. I n the past few years I just put everything in the freezer and then when I have time I thaw out and work it up. I hope harvest is going well. We have a few weeks to go yet.

Oh my goodness - I decided I was doing NONE this year... so, too bad for me. It looks great, though.

I haven't canned since I was back home in Louisiana....now I wished I'd paid more attention to the process and not tuning my mother out, lol.
