Busy, Busy, Busy!

Sorry, I have been really bad about checking in with you all....we have been just crazy busy around here since our return from Vegas!
We are in the process of taking butcher hogs out and getting the barns ready for a new batch of feeder pigs. We are also busy taking care of cows and calves (they are dropping calves like crazy), helping my father-in-law haul some beans to town and we are trying to get things ready for spring planting.
Some days are pretty overwhelming for me but I am taking it one day at a time and trying to get through it all. Chad is starting to help some but is still limited in what he can do. He had a check-up yesterday and is starting to get his range of motion back and is now starting on some strengthening exercises. They tell him 4-6 more weeks before he can do much lifting.
I am really thankful that I have Jeremy to help on the weekends and Courtney to help keep the house livable and make meals. I am also thankful for Chad's dad who is just a phone call away if I need help and for the good friends we have who have offered their help if we need. I may just have to call them and take them up on their offers!

Does it seem like you ever were away?!! You deserve a medal for doing all this farming while DH is laid up! Hope everything works out in the weeks ahead.

It looks like you had a ton of fun in Vegas! Aren't holidays together the best? I hope you get to go again soon. And too bad about the dog passing away while Courtney was in charge - that's a tough thing to handle all alone.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your dear dog! It is so hard to lose a four legged member of our families, especially one that you had for so long.

Had a lot of catching up to do on your posts. What a GREAT trip to Vegas! I would love to see some of those shows, the pirate one sounds like a lot of fun.

Now back to the real world. It seems like we were never gone to Puerto Rico for those few days. It just went so fast and then we were home again, but it was a lot of fun. I too don't know how you have held down the fort since Chad has been injured. You are an amazing person to do all that you do! Also great that the kids have pitched in! Take those friends up on their offer to help!!!!!

Thank goodness you've got older kids to help you out. I'm starting to see that with my soon to be 11y.o., she's much more helpful and w/o being asked. Hope Chad has a quick recovery.

You do sound busy!! I'm glad that the kids are able to help and that's great that your father-in-law is only a phone call away :)! Hopefully things will slow down a bit for you here in the next few days or weeks :)!

Have an excellent weekend :)!!
