Cows and Calves

Been busy the last few days moving cows and calves to pasture. It was so hot and windy yesterday....I was exhausted by the time we got in last night. We have had some sick calves so we have been treating them all with a shot and with 2 pills down their throat...makes for a lot of extra work but will hopefully be worth the effort.

Sounds like you have been busy!! I love calves! I just get such a kick outta watching them run around the fields "playing". Hopefully the cooler weather will help you all out some!! Of course if it's raining that's not much help either is it?!

Hope the calves get to feeling better! Take care of yourself also :)!!

Have a wonderful day Chris!!

I don't know what it's like to force a pill down the mouth of a calf, but I've had to do it on occasion with a 7 year old and it sucks! Hope they're feeling better

Um...how do you know a calf is sick?

Love it Tracy! They have diarrhea or scours as we call it in animals or they puff when the have pneumonia. Usually they start out not very active and lay around alot and then you know something is wrong. Good question tho!
