Update

Just a little update on what I have been up to.
We are still working on the harvest. We are combining the corn yet, which has been a really slow process since it all has to run through the corn dryer. It just takes time which we are slowly running out of. Mother nature is bound to open up on us one of these days. We got a little snow the other night which makes it a little more difficult but we are thankful that we are still able to keep working away at it.
We did take some time off on Thanksgiving day which was nice. So much to be thankful for, so it was nice to be able to celebrate at least part of the day.
I took Black Friday off from harvesting and went shopping with my sisters and a few good friends of mine. It was a fun day. I got up at 3:45 (no, I did not make it to the first store to open at 4 am) and shopped and shopped and laughed and laughed. It was fun to spend time with my sisters and friends plus I did get some Christmas shopping done which is a good thing, because I am not quite sure when I am going to get the rest of it done. I did work my waitress job that night ( 5-10), filled in for another girl who couldn't work so I was just a little tired that night!!!!
I am still waitressing but have cut back the last few weeks to only 1 day a week (plus I have filled in a few evenings when they need help). They knew when they hired me that harvest comes first and they have been very understanding about it! We are a farming community so they understand the importance of getting the harvest done.
Well, my tractor awaits me....I had better get to the field! I hope you are all doing well and staying healthy. I can't wait to finish this harvest and finally catch up on all of you!

Sounds like a busy life. I am glad harvest is going well. Our harvest is slow since the elevator does not take corn but an hour or two a day.

Love and Hugs,
Joyce

3:45? Are you crazy?! ;) Yep, I'll bet you were tired that night. Glad you're harvest is going a little more smoothly.
We are freezing here, literally. Minus 4 the other morning. Good day to stay in.
Have a great week.

Oh, my!! You have had a very long fall! I hope this week goes smoothly and you can get finished. Breakdowns are so frustrating when the weather is threatening! We had a huge blizzard on Friday and now have more snow than we've had during the whole of the last few winters. It blew and blew and made drifts everywhere. I hope you don't get those storms until you are safely tucked into the house! You pose interesting questions about God's plan - trusting is so hard when you can't see the end, isn't it?! Take care - work safely!

I hope you are hanging in there and are done with harvest. We got quite a bit of snow these past few days. Lots of blowing and drifting...
