Planting

We have the corn planted!

Chad's dad prepared the ground to be planted and
Chad put in some LONG days planting.
I put in some hectic days delivering seed and fertilizer.
While Chad planted, I also kept busy doing the chores, fixing fences so we could get cows and calves moved to pasture (almost all of them moved now), mowing both the hog barn site and at home and just keeping things going here on the farm so Chad could concentrate on planting.

Chad's dad planted some soybeans with the drills while Chad finished the last acres of corn.
We have now gotten some nice gentle rains!  GREAT for the corn!  We have been so dry here so we are very thankful for the rain!  We have had a few good days of planting beans now so hopefully before too long the planting will be completed for the year.

It's good to have the corn and beans in the ground! Our corn is now up enough that we can easily see the rows. I can identify with you...running for seed and fertilizer. I'm glad the weather has been cooperating with you!

There's nothing better than a freshly planted field!

Thanks for stopping over for a visit.... our fields are almost done being planted (think they are putting soybeans in field next to us - the last thing to be planted)...we have lots of rain (good for crops) but I am so ready for some rain. Enjoy visiting your blog - glad you are back blogging!
