Nicolette

My niece Nicolette (we call her Nikki), was here last weekend. She reminds me alot of Courtney. She can be all girl and get dressed up when need be but is a tomboy at heart. Here she is holding a toad she found in our yard....there are baby ones all over this year! Her brother Mitchell, who is 5, wouldn't have anything to do with it.

Nikki shows her three 4-H calves next week at their County Achievement Days.....and when I am talking calves, I don't mean the little baby ones....these are yearlings and like 1200 lbs. I am hoping I can get to the show and take pictures to show you all. I went to her house and watched her lead them around last weekend and she is a PRO!

I think my daughter may be just like your daughter and neice. She LOVES dress-up but she also loves to be tough and hang with my son and husband. I guess the only difference would be that she loves doing so in a dress. :) She is only 4 but we shall see what takes the lead, the girly girl or the tomboy. :)

Thanks for your comment on my post via Multi-Tasking Moms!! Have a great day!

How fun...I remember finding toads and all that fun stuff. Marissa would have nothing to do with that either.

What a neat picture, I wish her the best at acheivement days AND the state fair!
We drove by your farm last night! We were at my folks and talking about where dad used to live. I had always thought he lived on the farm next to ours his entire childhood. But it turns out he lived on your farm until he was six. My great-grandfather homesteaded your place! You'd think I would have known all this long before now!
Tell me you got the rain, too. Dad got over 2 inches. PTL!

Girls and toads. I love it. Last summer I woke my tomboy up from her nap and she said, "Oh, I hope my friend is still here." I thought she was half asleep--dreaming. Then she went over to her play kitchen set and pulled a toad out of the stove.
