FCA Praise Rally

I just got back from the FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) Rally that our FCA group at our school sponsored and helped put on....what an awesome experience! It was for kids from around the area in grades 7-12 but I was lucky enough to be one of those moms that the kids (thanks Jeremy and Courtney) volunteered to come and help serve lunch afterwards...so I got to be part of the Rally!

The Worship band from SDSU came and played songs for the group and Brian Hansen...a former NFL player and current SD State Director for FCA was the main speaker. The band was awesome and Brian was a wonderful speaker!

I am so proud of our youth that are members of FCA for helping to put on this Rally for themselves and for kids from surrounding schools and for not being afraid to proclaim their love for Jesus openly! Thanks also to our volunteer aids and teachers for giving their time to allow our kids to have this wonderful group. It was a great Rally and I hope they continue to make this an annual event.

Sounds wonderful! I've been a FCA fan for years.

About your post on Jeremy, I concur that those times you get to talk with your son one on one as a "big" person, are some of the most precious and memorable times. I had a great conversation with my 20 year old today that made me smile!

So being volunteered to do something does have its advantages sometimes. Hmmm...

That sounds great! I think it's wonderful that your kids and many other kids can openly share their love for Jesus Christ. When I was in High School it wasn't something you did (sad but very true). If you did proclaim your love for Jesus you were looked at as a Bible Beater (I hate that term). I am so glad today's youth are encouraged though groups like these!

Have a wonderful day!

Cool! I didn't know that parents went to help out. I've always thought this was such a great thing - I wish Hamlin would put on a rally too.

Amy-this was Hamlin's first Rally! They are hoping to make it an annual event!

This is always wonderful to hear. It is harder and harder to stand up for what we believe in our school systems, and it is so refreshing to hear of rallies like this.

Oh, glad you had a fun time with Jeremy and that he really liked the school.

In Indiana and the Christian Churchs it is ICYC, Indian Chirstian Youth Convention for High School age and is held in Anderson, Iniana. I have never been asked to go and you must have had a wonderful time. I relized that if you want to go to chuch you must go where no one is over 21 in age to get Holy Gesse Bumps.

I kept hoping they would say, 'public welcome'. :) I REALLY wanted to come! I am also very proud of our school for hosting such an awesome event. Glad you got to go and enjoy!
