Shooting Sports

Shooting Sports started again yesterday. The season runs January thru April....the State Match is in April. Both of the kids shoot archery (5 different categories), air pistol and .22 pistol and I am a certified instructor for archery. There is also BB gun, .22 rifle and shotgun available to shoot. It is a very good program and the kids love to participate. Jeremy has even qualified for and shot at Nationals twice, what an awesome experience! It is for kids ages 8-18.....if you have kids this age, I would highly recommend this program....it is available in almost all the states!

We only have archery here, Abi has participated the last 3 years. She went to state 2 years ago, but really struggled with a too small bow last year, then adapting to a new one. Last night was actually the 2nd night for this year, but Abi has been too sick to go. Hopefully, by next Sunday night she will be feeling up to it.

That is great that your kids participate, do so well, and that you are an instructor. I know from Kerry and Travis that you have a great program up there! Have a fun time with it this year!

I would love to get the kids in the program - I'm sure Trevor will think he can just teach them just as easily. But the competition is the fun stuff!!!

Sounds like a fun program and that your kids do real well with it

Mine aren't in that yet. Maybe Derek will be interested in it in a year or two.

Can not wait till Savannah gets old enough to do it! Her daddy will start teaching her in about another year or so. But it would be good to have the competition and other experience as well. Archery is my thing-I love it! I have a hay bale set up with a target on it! We shoot our at the farm with skeet and all. Such fun! Look forward to hearing how your bunch does!
Hope you have a great and blessed day!!

My kids are grown and gone now but I remember taking an archery class in my private school when I was growing up and I just loved it! My son is now a self taught bow hunter and very good at it. Best of luck to your kids as they participate this year!

I've always wanted to learn archery. Never had an opportunity, though.

Hi Chris,
Some where in Indiana there would be shooting sports, but not in our area. Good luck to your kids in their areas. Sounds like fun.

You really had odd cravings. Thanks for stopping by.

Love and Hugs,
Joyce
