Valentine's Day

Since Valentine's Day is just around the corner, I have a few questions for all of you...........Do you and your significant other exchange gifts?
What is your favorite gift to receive?
What is your favorite gift to give?
Do you spend the day or evening doing anything special?
Do you have a "special" valentines day story that you would like to share? If you do....please share it with us!

Do you and your significant other exchange gifts? Usually something small.

What is your favorite gift to receive? I really don't have a favorite. Any gift if good for me!

Do you spend the day or evening doing anything special? We usually go out for lunch that day so then we don't have to get a baby sitter then do something fun with the girls that evening. But this year Shayla dances at the the 1/2 time of the girls b-ball game, so we'll have bleacher butt that night!

Do you have a "special" valentines day story that you would like to share? The most memorable v-day I've had was when I was pregnant with Shayla. I was so, so sick and felt like dog poop 100% the time. Corey, on his own...with no hints from me, got two 1 hour pregnancy massages!

If we do anything at all, it is something small.

We don't usually do much for V-day. One year we offered child care for our friends while they went out. We had a HOUSEFULL but it was a blast! We fell into bed exhausted :) One year, I was very pregnant with #3 and I drew a big heart on my tummy just to be cute for my hubby. Well, wouldn't you know I had an OB check up the next day and the marker wouldn't wash completely off! My Dr. already knew I was unusual but that certainly sealed the deal:) This year Daddy's taking his four girls out on a "real" date. Should be sweet!

I'll have to think about these.

We usually just give each other cards and sometimes a little gift to go with it. Usually nothing too big or extravagant.

We don't usually do much for gifts...there's always so many other places for the money, but we like to go out to dinner...just the 2 of us.

Chris, Hi

As far as exchanging gifts. Somtimes we do give something small.
Other times we just give the kids something.

Most Valentines we either eat out just the two of us or sometimes eat out with the kids. Other times we prepare a special meal at home here.

My hubby ordered me some of my favorite candy from Bridgewater Chocolate in Conn. I didn't have the heart to tell him I'm trying to diet! lol! I always get him a card and prepare a special dinner. We don't like to go out on Valentines Day as the restaurants are mobbed.

We don't have any "set" thing and it varies from year to year, although we always give each other a card. This year I am going to surprise him with a really nice, special dinner, on a Thursday night, when he comes home from work.

Do you and your significant other exchange gifts? **We usually agree that we won't but Jeff sometimes breaks the rule and buys me something small.

What is your favorite gift to receive? **I love chocolate but any gift is fine :)

What is your favorite gift to give?
**I guess I'm not really sure. Anything that means a lot to Jeff is my favorite gift to give.

Do you spend the day or evening doing anything special? **We usually spend Valentines evening eating out someplace fancier then our usual.

Do you have a "special" valentines day story that you would like to share? **One year when Jeff and I had first started dating I gave him one of those kiddy valentines everyday from Feb. 1st until Feb. 14. I still find them once in awhile (in his desk drawer at home). :)

We don't exchange gifts, sometimes I get him a card, and I usually try to make him a favorite chocolate dessert. We do get the girls a small gift.

My favorite gift is anything!

No, we don't usually do anything special, and I can't think of any valentine's story for you.

Ahh, my boring life!

We usually go and buy a couple of movies since we LOVE to watch them. THis year we are just grilling steaks on Valentines and on Saturday we are going out for supper and going to a Valentines dance at the Elks. Want to go?

no gifts usually---but pretty great cards.

funny valentine's story, my husband is not a sentimental/romantic. he just isn't and i'm learning to live with it. but he is always AMAZED at the amount of 'good' cards available when he goes to pick mine out. so i usually end up getting like FOUR of them, because he just can't decide.

We do exchange-but just small gifts. This year I got a pair of split reins that I have been wanting. I got him a custom horn knot. I will cook a meal, but it will be this weekend as hubby is working nights. We got Savannah a stuffed animal and a box of chocolates. I love to give gifts, just love it! I get so excited! Hope you all have a great day!

We usually pick something out that each of us want. It's never a surprise and then we buy it. It's like that for pretty much everything. Christmas, birthdays. Sometimes I can pull a fast one but not always.

Valentine's Day is pretty subdued around here. I usually get DH some chocolate (check my blog to see this year's!) and a movie that we watch together in the evening. I always get a little something for the kids but this year I skipped the Purdy's chocolates and cooked/baked some food items for them. The granddaughters each got a book and shirt.

I know flowers are over-priced at this time of year but I do love getting something colorful and fresh in the middle of winter. My DH is a real non-present kind of guy so I make him a card and keep it small for him. My story - about 5 years ago, DH got me the video "Love Story". It was the first movie we went to together 31 years ago and he had to special order it from the video store. It was very unexpected and such a sweet thing to do.

Happy Lover's Day to you!
