SDSU here he comes!

We spent all day yesterday at South Dakota State University attending orientation meetings. We now have Jeremy "officially" all signed up for classes and ready to head off to college. He can start moving into his dorm on August 28 and starts classes on Sept. 2.

Some parts of the orientation were very interesting and some were very B-O-R-I-N-G! For the most part, we learned alot. All I know is there are LOTS of decisions to make when attending college. Jeremy did pretty well.....he is not really a decision kind of guy!

He also had to take placement tests for Math and tested out of a few math classes and starts with Calculus 1....that saved him some time and $$$. He was pretty excited about that.

He changed his major already....he was signed up for Mechanical Engineering but isn't sure Mechanical is the type of engineering he wants so he changed it to General Engineering until he decides for sure which type of engineering he would like to pursue.

So.....in a few months, I will be sending my baby off to South Dakota State University.

Exciting days for all of you. Now your son is officially a college student and the summer will fly by. I have a friend who just received a mechanical engineering and has received 3 job offers. In our part of the United States that degree is in great demand.

If she does Mech. engr or Ag. engr I could probably hook him up with a sweet internship!

I found the college orientation so helpful once school started. It gave me more information and I understood and could support our kids better. The summer is going to fly by!!

Good job Jeremy! At least he will still be fairly close to home to visit once in awhile. Good for him.

Wow! That is so exciting and a little sad, too, that your baby is going to college.

Not sure how it came about. I think there were a few tears, pleading, and begging!!! ;) Kristi is very hard to catch up to. Sure. You guys can go go-karting with us! When do you want to go and I'm serious. Not just saying that to say it.

Congrats but sob sob too! I'm sure you have instilled in him all the tools he needs to be the independent man he is now striking out to be. Wish him my best please.

I was wondering where he decided to go. Two of Elijah's cross country teammates are headed off to SDSU too. I told my son he needs to get a little more serious about school...just in case. You never know how many runners they need there!
