Better Week

This week was much better for me! I am adjusting to doing all the chores myself since Chad is laid up and have only had a few minor mishaps this week! Chad did have to come out and help me fix one of the water fountains for the calves....it froze up and the calves had no water. It ended up taking us just over 4 hours to get it going again. I was trying to get one part done and it was taking me a long time (about 20 minutes) when he says "if I had more than one arm, I could have done this part in a minute". Yeah, guess what honey, you don't have more than one arm right now and I am stuck doing this (didn't say it, it went through my head).

Chad had a doctor appointment yesterday and the shoulder looks good. He started physical therapy yesterday too but is very limited in what he can do because it was a massive tear(they did some measurements and gave him some things to keep his hand and forearm from getting stiff). Having a massive tear delays his therapy about 2 weeks and makes the recovery a bit longer....not what we wanted to hear. We are hoping he can get it working enough to get in the tractor by April for spring planting. He still won't be able to lift by then so I might have to follow him around and load the planter and also the sprayer. We will probably have to try to hire some help for calving because he won't be able to help with that and we also have pigs going out some time in April and he won't be able to help with that much either. It's going to be a tough year....for both of us!

Thanks for all the prayers and concern for Chad and for me! It really makes my day to know that people care!

Trying times make us stronger in the end :-) I had not even thought about the recovery time and the affects it could have on your spring time farm events. Praying for you to find good help!

(Hope that helped.) :)

Thinking if you.

Here's hoping for a speedy recovery. God knows if my hub got laid up I'd kill him.

We fought doing taxes tonight.

Hope you have patience that has not been tapped yet. :)

And lots of booze.

You are such a wonder woman. I could never get all that done.
I do hope that Chad's recovery is a speedy one.
Prayers to give you the strength to get through this.

Hang in there! The recovery process is no fun, but worth it. I had shoulder sugery back on 1998 and I have not had any trouble since! Well worth it.. This process is long and grueling but very critical.
He will be good as new in no time!

Haaa.. "if I had more than one arm, I could have done this part in a minute".... I would have had a response of, "If you don't be quiet, I am going to rip off your good arm and beat you with it!" Haa...

So glad his checkup was good. You can do it! Do you need a farm hand?

Well I am praying for a full and speedy recovery! I really feel for you ... springs work is stressful enough but I know you will do what you need to do!

What a winter you are having! I can just imagine you out and about in the snow doing everything by yourself. And I can just imagine how frustrated Chad must feel sometimes. Farm guys don't do injuries well, in my experience. Praying that everything goes smoothly and you have patience and safety each day. ((( HUGS )))
