Girls Basketball Season Ends

Courtney's basketball season is now done for this year. They had a really good season with a pretty good record but did end up with one of the starters injured and she had to have her ACL reconstructed a week ago. Bummer....but things like that happen in life.

Weekend

We had a BLAST at the Timberwolves/Lakers game. We are "officially" in Timberwolves territory but Chad has always been a huge Lakers fan and has thus turned the whole family into Lakers fans! The Lakers won by 3 points and it was close throughout the whole game....it was a such a good game.

We also got to do some shopping at the Mall of America and eat at some good places (Hard Rock Cafe, Famous Daves and Ruby Tuesdays). Chad and I even let loose (ok, I do let loose now and again but Chad rarely does) and we had several drinks since the game was walking distance from our hotel (Thank You Wayne)! Chad tried quite a few new drinks.....practicing for our Vegas trip next month.

I took pictures at the game but haven't had time to download them yet, I will try to get them up sometime this week!

Heading East

Ok, not far east but Chad, Jeremy, Steph (Jeremy's girlfriend) and I are heading to Minneapolis on Sunday to watch the Timberwolves vs Lakers game......compliments of Garst seed and Wayne! Chad has been a Lakers fan for....ohhh..... about......FOREVER, so he is totally excited to be going to the game (and so am I).

More Technology

I added some new technology to my life and if you know me, I am not very technology savvy! I joined Facebook! My friend Michelle talked me into it with a little help from a few of my other high school friends. My kids told me I was too old but Michelle informed me that I am NOT! I already found lots of high school classmates and friends and.....Courtney approves....sorta!

Mini Vacation

We went to the Hills for a mini vacation this last weekend. We took off on Friday night about midnight (Courtney had a game and of course it was over an hour away in the opposite direction and we left after her game). We rolled into Rapid City about 6 am our time (5 am Rapid City time). We brought Courtney's friend Tayler along and Jeremy's friend/cousin Jarrett along too. I took the girls shopping for prom dresses on Saturday and the boys went snowmobiling all day Saturday and Sunday. The girls each scored prom dresses....very gorgeous ones too I might add and the boys had a blast sledding in the Hills.

I have been pretty bad at getting around to "check in" with everyone lately. I am hoping to get

some time this week to "catch up" with all of you.

Nothing!

Nothing exciting going on around here! Still busy with the cow chores and pig chores. Chad started physical therapy and goes 3 times a week. Nothing much for him to do yet at therapy, the therapist just stretches him out to make sure his shoulder doesn't lock up and does one little exercise. He will start doing some tougher therapy in a few weeks. He is hanging in there and has actually been way more patient than I thought he would!!!! Maybe that's his lesson to learn in this....I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason!

Courtney turned 17 yesterday!She has been such a blessing in our life! She is a feisty, fun-loving girl! She is smart and hard working. She likes to "challenge" us now and again but hey, ya gotta love that she has spunk. She likes to be a girly girl but yet isn't afraid to work hard and get dirty. Happy Birthday Courtney, we love you!

I've really gotten to know some of their personalities while feeding them. I know the timid ones and the "pushy" ones, the sloooow ones and the ones that try to beat me to the bunk and the really dumb ones! That's something I have never gotten to see because normally I spend most of my time with them during calving season and I just get to see the "motherly" side of them. It's been a whole new experience for me.

YIPPEE

The calves are going to the sale barn tomorrow (Wednesday) to get sold-YIPPEE! That will be 135 less animals around here for me to feed and bed down. Maybe I will have a little more time to keep up with all of you now....I have been pretty bad at checking in with all of you and I have really missed it!

New Sled

Here is Jeremy's newest purchase.....a 2001 Ski Doo 700. He has been looking for a snowmobile for several months and FINALLY found "the one". It goes VERY fast which makes this mom a little nervous but hey, it's his money and he is 19 so I couldn't really tell him he couldn't buy it.
Don't ya like his snowmobile "duds" (aka coveralls). He is now looking for some nice snowmobiling "apparel"! Do you know of any good places he could look for some...online or in SD?
