The Sun is Finally Shining!
Getting lots of stuff done around here! The sun was finally shining long enough for us to get the hay cut, some spraying done and corn hauled to town. Jeremy got 7 loads of corn hauled to the elevator yesterday, he is a huge help to us here on the farm! Chad sprayed all day yesterday and I hauled water to him. Al (Chad's dad) finished cutting hay the day before yesterday, just waiting for that to cure so it can be baled. It finally feels like we are catching up (as much as you can be caught up on the farm). Chance of storms all week so hopefully we can get lots done again today.

Senior Pictures
Jodi at JJW Photography took Courtney's senior pictures today. She took some really cute shots and Courtney had alot of fun at the photo shoot. Thanks Jodi!
I can't believe my baby is going to be a senior this coming school year....where did the time go? I have a feeling this school year is going to fly by and we will be sitting at her graduation before we know it! Enjoy those young ones gals because before you know it, they will be seniors and you will be wondering where the time went!

Dog
Courtney just added another thing to her already busy schedule.....she has decided to show our dog Madyson in the 4-H dog show this year. They practice every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday but she is only to make the Wed. and Sat. practices (and not even those some weeks). She will show her in the county Dog Show in August. She just got done giving her a bath and being the active farm dog she is, she will be dirty in an hour. I am hoping she doesn't find anything else that interests her because her schedule is already crazy!

Summer?
Isn't it supposed to be summer? Yesterday was warm in the morning and then a little shower came through and it got COLD. Today I wore a sweatshirt most of the day...what is going on?
We have been repairing fences in pastures and putting in a whole new fence-line in one. The jury is still out on whether I like fencing or not. I am not very good at it but I used to hate fencing...now it isn't too bad.
Getting the haying equipment ready and will probably start cutting hay this week. I love the smell of fresh cut alfalfa!

Back Home
First of all, it is my sister Cheryl's 40th birthday today.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHERYL-LOVE YA!
*
I got back home last night....what a weekend! It was 88 degrees and no wind the one day at the track meet, I thought I was going to melt!
Jarrett and Tayler (the kids I brought with me) and I had a great time. Courtney's team left Saturday afternoon so we took her with us and stayed one more night so Courtney could visit with her Grandma. My grandma and aunt were also there (my cousin was also in the State meet) so we had a nice visit.
Courtney didn't do real well at the Meet. She didn't throw as far as she has this year but she was ok with that. She didn't get last and that was her goal. I was impressed with her attitude, she usually gets a little grumpy (and that is putting it mildly) when she doesn't do well but she had a smile on her face when she got done and was in a good mood...whew! Only one out of the 9 that went from her team placed. Tasha placed 7th in the hurdles....Congrats Tasha, way to go!
