Wheat Harvest

We finally got the wheat harvested last week. It was HOT, HOT and HOT last week while harvesting!

and Chad was baling the straw right behind us.


So...the wheat is all harvested and the straw is all baled up!
Good feeling!

Dog Show

Yesterday was the 4-H Achievement Day Dog Show.

Courtney did very good with her dog Madyson even though Madyson did not cooperate very well in the obedience part of the show. Madyson nailed the long down (laying down for 3 minutes, 6 ft from Courtney and staying while she returns to her) but was a little hyper through the rest of that part of the show. She got a blue ribbon in Obedience but pulled off purple ribbons in Rally and Showmanship.

This year they had enough dogs and kids to do a team entry. Here are a few pictures of the team showing.

It was a pretty good sized show this year with 15 dogs. It was a LONG, HOT day, but was fun to see all the kids show their dogs that have worked so hard this summer getting them ready.

Nikki

Courtney, my sister Cheryl and I traveled to Clark on Thursday to watch my niece Nikki, show her 4-H calves.

And......it was also her 11th birthday!

We celebrated after the show in their camper with a cake that her Grandma Pauline brought.

I thought the sunset the other night was pretty spectacular so I took a few pictures of it.

I FINALLY had time to make some homemade buns!

The house smells heavenly right now!!! And the family is really happy!

Custer State Park

We took a drive through Custer State Park while in the Black Hills a few weeks ago. I only took a few pictures there but here are 2 of them. Stephanie feeding a mama burro.
